About Me and Inspiration

For the past four years, I've had the privilege of working alongside refugee families, guiding them as they adjust to life in the United States. Teaching individuals like Matthew and Mandelini has been about more than just academics; it’s been about building trust, sharing experiences, and growing together. Beyond education, I’ve focused on helping these families understand the U.S. banking system—a daunting task for anyone, especially for newcomers adapting to a new culture and language.
This dedication led me to publish The Mugisha Family Fights Fraud, a book that addresses the unique financial literacy challenges refugees face. Through storytelling, the book offers practical lessons in avoiding scams and understanding financial basics, empowering readers to make informed choices. My work with these families and my book reflect a commitment to supporting refugees as they find stability and confidence in their new lives

My Story

The idea for this website was born from years of working directly with refugee families and witnessing the unique financial challenges they face. During my work with individuals like Matthew and Mandelini, I saw firsthand how a lack of familiarity with the U.S. banking system left them vulnerable to scams and fraud. Watching families struggle with understanding complex financial systems was eye-opening and sparked a desire to bridge this gap.

After publishing The Mugisha Family Fights Fraud (mentioned above),I wanted to expand that reach. This website is a step toward that goal—a resource to empower not only refugees but anyone who wants to protect themselves from bank fraud and financial exploitation. My hope is that this site becomes a safe space for learning and a tool for fostering financial independence for all.
